Barratt David Wilson to build desirable homes along Maldon Road
Barratt David Wilson (BDW) is consulting residents on plans to deliver new homes as part of the East Chelmsford Strategic Growth Sites.
This website provides information about the emerging plans and allows you to provide feedback directly to the team.
The principle of building new homes in this location is established through the Local Plan allocations and in the approved Masterplan.
The sites form the allocated East Chelmsford Strategic Growth Sites 3c and 3d in the adopted Chelmsford Local Plan 2013-2036. The Masterplan for these sites received approval in 2021.
Following the withdrawal of a previous hybrid planning application in January 2025, BDW acquired the site and is preparing a new, detailed application to ensure the delivery of these Strategic Growth Sites.
As such, BDW invites you to take part in its public consultation on its emerging proposals for 174 new homes on the Land North and South of Maldon Road.
On this website, you will find more about the emerging proposal. You can also view the materials on our dedicated project website.
BDW will consider all community feedback and finalise the proposal accordingly before submitting a planning application to Chelmsford City Council.
